Prologue

Word Count: 1.5k | cw//angst, profanity
"JIMIN?!?" Your screech was so high that you could hear all the dogs in the city bark, "is that you?" "Oh My God, Live?!?" He stood there halfway shocked, of course he'd hoped that he'd see you, but he knew how small the chances were. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" You practically jumped into hugging him. 'Oh my god she feels good', he thought, holding onto you his lips seemingly frozen in shocked excited happiness, "I'm attending a conference just a few hotels that way. I can't believe I ran into you." "Ummm, yes, almost literally," you hugged him again, complete disbelief covering your face, "how long are you in for? How long is your conference? I can't believe you're here! Wait, do you have plans tonight? Oh gosh, maybe I should let you answer my questions." You both giggled as if you'd never been apart. "I'm in for a few more days, I got in two nights ago. No plans, probably just going to order room service."

"Oh, no you are not ordering room service, you have to come to our apartment. We'll make you dinner!" You were bubbling with joy, your heart still skipped a few beats just being in his presence. He smiled, trying to keep the crushing sound of 'our' and 'we'll' from breaking him in half, proceeding with the goal of just seeing you, "I'd love to." "Oh my gawd, I have to call my husband, he's not gonna believe it. Jimin Park, here in my city, in real life," you shuffled through your bag for your phone, overtaken by how excited you were. 'Husband?' He could hear his heart fracturing, 'she's married…'

"Hoseokie! You're not going to believe who's standing in front of me," you gushed, holding onto Jimin's arm, making sure he wasn't just a figment of your imagination, "Jimin Park!" You nodded, smiling at Jimin, as you talked to the person at the other end of the call, "yes, my best friend from college, he's right here. He's coming over for dinner, so make sure you are home on time. No, no, you're always busy, the company will survive without you for one evening. Yay! Thank you, honey. Ok, yes, yes. I got it. Ok. Love you, bye." 'Holy fuck, best friend from college, this is worse than I imagined it would be', Jimin thought to himself, 'maybe I should have just left well enough alone'.

"Ok, amazing!" You hugged him again, you felt like you were really in a trance, completely overwhelmed in disbelief, "I'll actually be able to see him on a weekday." "I didn't know you'd gotten married," Jimin tried with all his might to sound happily surprised, but he felt the disappointment so heavy, that he was certain you could smell it. "Yeah, it's been a few years now," you smiled, "you are going to love him. I already know he will love you! But then again, who doesn't love Jimin Park?" He chuckled, pushing his feelings down, "well, it's been a while since we last saw each other. Maybe I'm not so lovable anymo…" You stopped him before he even thought to continue, "stop, Jimin. There is no way, ever, that you would not be loveable. And I know, for a fact, that there is no way the adorable students in your class would have anything but love and adoration for you. That's pretty much your whole being."

He tried hard not to blush, but he couldn't help it, to have you there standing in front of him…finally, 'she's still the Live I remember. She's still my girl.' "Well, I appreciate that plethora of compliments," he smiled shyly, looking down, feeling like he did the first day he met you. "Are you still at the same school?" You asked, feeling the little sting of pain, thinking about why you weren't together. "Yes, still there," he chuckled, "you know how much I love that little town." "Yes, I do," you smiled, before both of you went into a small pause, obviously processing the past. "Are you still at Today?" He asked, inching further away from those 'what if' thoughts that he'd grown so accustomed to having, when he thought about you. "Yes, can you believe I've finally made it to producing only the first two hours," you boasted with relief, wiping the pretend sweat from your forehead, a true expression of 'phew' setting into your face. "That's amazing, Live," he smiled, holding his hands together in praise, "I'm so proud of you." He finished his thought, internally, '...baby.'"

"So, what about you…single, dating, married, divorced?" You asked, feeling dread to hear the answer, but at the same time…who were you? Not single. "Currently, single," he giggled, "dating occasionally, never married, so no divorce either." You giggled, holding onto his arm, out of habit, "well, I'm pretty positive that if you got married, you'd never get divorced. Not my Jimin." 'My Jimin?' He noticed, paying attention to the pumping of his heart against his chest, hearing your claim of him, even if it was only in nostalgia. "I can't believe you got married and I didn't know," he was honest, thinking back to your agreement the last time you saw each other. You looked down, disconnecting from his arm, before asking him to sit down next to you on a nearby park bench. "I'm sorry that I didn't tell you," you confessed, your guilt having long been hidden underneath the presence of your new life, but seeing him and hearing his voice…it had easily returned, "it was so small and almost sudden. It wasn't on a whim, except it kinda was when I think back to it. We didn't really invite many people. I'm sorry."

"Oh stop, sweetheart, there's no need to be sorry. I just didn't realize, that's all," Jimin admitted, his hope of finding you in the city, making a grand gesture and asking you to be with him again, started to dig its own grave inside his chest. "Well, I am sorry," you finalized the topic, "I should have told you." "So, where did you meet him?" He felt physical pain asking you, but he always knew that the possibility of you still being single wasn't a guarantee. "On set," you laughed, thinking back to when you first met Hoseok. "Really? Does he work with you?" Jimin asked, now genuinely curious, so easily moving into friend mode again. "No," you laughed, "maybe if he did I'd actually see him. No, he's a designer, big in the fashion industry. He has a clothing brand." "Oh wow," Jimin dropped his mouth open, "that's incredible. Well, then he must be a fan of the city…"

He didn't mean to leave what he said open-ended, but once he said it, you were both transported back to that moment. The most pain either of you had ever faced when it came to your relationship. "Yeah," you answered, shaking your head to help with transitioning into a different topic, "so what are your plans now?" "I'm technically free," he chuckled, "I mean…if I skip the late afternoon sessions." You stood up and held your hand out to him, "you're absolutely skipping those sessions. Come with me sir, I will give you a tour of some of my favorite spots." He happily connected his hand with yours and stood up, "best plan I've ever heard." You smiled, connecting back to his arm, taking in his scent, instantly taken back to that day you met…in the library, "you still smell exactly the same, so fucking good." He giggled, leaning into you, "you've always been a big fan of my scent." You felt your face heat up and you nodded, staying quiet, and inside your thoughts, 'I remember you being a big fan of the scent of my pussy…the way you used to eat me out…so fucking good. Fuck!'

"I still remember what that look on your face means," he spoke in his lower register, unable to hide his recognition of your 'dirty thoughts' expression. You stopped, pulling on his arm with your jaw dropped, "no you don’t." He chuckled, catching your defensiveness, and raised his eyebrows, clearly knowing he was right, "oh, ok, my apologies." You shook your head, trying to hide your giggle, before you admitted, "no one has ever known me quite like you, Jimin Park." He smiled, appreciative of your admission, "that's how I've always felt about you, Live Moore." You chuckled, before correcting him, "Live Jung." "Ahh, yes, Mrs. Jung," he nodded, "gonna take a moment to get used to that." "To be honest, it took me a while to get used to it too," you chuckled, "I promise you'll probably love him more th…" You stopped, realizing what you had started to say, "...you'll love him."

He knew he probably shouldn't say it, but he just needed you to know, even if it was only between the two of you, "I'm positive I will never love anyone more than I love you."
